Project 1 is conducted through strict Casting and Imaging criteria. After working through material and imaging techniques, Project 2 will be much more open.
Casts. Each group will start with 1 concrete cast. By next Wednesday (Sept. 4) every group will have at least 3 casts completed.
- Casts can’t measure more than 6″ in any direction.
- Each cast must make at least one space with a clear height of 1.5″.
Imaging. During the dig-cast-dig process every team will produce two types of images:
Type A: Images documenting the overall size and scope of the cast. Type B: Zoomed-in images documenting material and site details.
- At least twenty-four (24) images (landscape orientation) documenting the dig-cast-process.
- Images should be carefully composed. There can only be four things in each images: sand, casting membrane, concrete, and/or hands with pouring bucket or digging tools.
Post-cast Imaging. To be discussed on Friday (Aug. 30) after first round of casts.
